Con la llegada de la Navidad, la Autoridad del Transporte Metropolitano de Nueva York (MTA) fleta un tren especial formado por vagones históricos conservados en el New York Transit Museum (Brooklyn) y que circulará todos los domingos de diciembre.

Este tren especial se conoce como ‘Holiday Nostalgia Train’ y está compuestos por 8 vagones modelos R/1 y R/9  que prestaron servicio en la red de metro de la ciudad de los rascacielos entre la década de 1930 y finales de los 70.

Los vagones mantienen el mismo aspecto que tenían cuando estaban en servicio: anuncios publicitarios de la época, ventiladores en el techo, asientos acolchados e iluminados por bombillas incandescentes. Una oportunidad única para desplazarse a bordo de históricas piezas ferroviarias. Y todo ello por el precio de un billete sencillo (3 dólares).

 ‘Holiday Nostalgia Train’ circulará todos los domingos (días 1, 8, 15, 22 y 29) en diciembre de 2019.

Domingos, 1 y 8 de diciembre. Salida desde 125th Street (Línea A): 11:00 – 13:00 – 15:00 y 17:00 horas.

Domingos, 15, 22 y 29 de diciembre. Salida desde 145th Street (Línea D): 11:00 – 13:00 – 15:00 y 17:00 horas.
